MISMIS-Language: MISinfirmation and MIScommunication in Social Media: Analysing Language
MISMIS-Language: MISinfirmation and MIScommunication in Social Media: Analysing Language (PGC2018-096212-B-C33) subproject of the project MISinfirmation and MIScommunication in Social Media: aggregating information and analysing language (PGC2018-096212-B) coordinated by Paolo Rosso (Universitat Politècnica de València). Funded by: Ministerio de Ciencia, Innovación y Universidades, programa de I+D de Generación de Conocimiento. Participants: Universitat Politècnica de València, Universitat de Barcelona and Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia (UNED). Description: The essential, transversal contribution of this subproject to the coordinated project is: a)The development of linguistic models that permit both the detection and analysis of the language features on social media that relate to the factual and speculative use of language and its relationship with negation in order to discriminate between real and fake news. b)The linguistic modelling of emotionality in language, in particular of aggressive language and hate speech. The identification of the lexical-syntactic patterns and the features that characterize this use of language. c)The development of high quality and theoretically grounded corpora annotated with information related to negation, factuality and speculation, aggressive language and heat speech.
